About Van Auken Development
Class "A" General Contactor License 2705 088531A
Paul Van Auken's experience goes back to working summers during high school in the late 1960's as a carpenter framing houses for a large Tidewater Area developer. Based on his grass roots level experience, his pursuit of a degree in Architecture, and a passion for designing contemporary homes, he established his own firm focused on contemporary custom homes, site development, as well as restaurant, hotel and residential remodeling in the resort town of Virginia Beach where he grew up.
Since its inception, Van Auken Development has expanded to include investor group LLC's that acquire and develop property throughout the seven cities comprising the Tidewater Area as well as the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Van Auken Development is considered unique in that it provides a complete service to include a design division, a construction division, and an asset management division.
In April of 2006 Paul Van Auken created the Design Division, which has proven to be self sustaining and a vital asset to the company. In January of 2008 DeAndre Coke took over the Design Division. The Design Division expanded in November of 2009 when Heidi Laderberg joined to form an interior design portion of the Design Division.
Van Auken Development pursues building projects that are affordable for first time home buyers with some amenities that you find in larger more luxurious homes. Van Auken Development brings together modern ideas from builder trade shows, communities in other areas of the country, such as California, the deep south and intercity living, to provide a fresh and unique living environment for its clients.
